We are delighted to announce that renowned film, television and theatre actor, Nicholas Pinnock, has become the first Ambassador for Wellbeing in the Arts.
With a career spanning more than 30 years, Nicholas has built an extensive body of work across stage and screen. His recent film credits include Here (Miramax) and The Book of Clarence (Legendary Pictures / TriStar), alongside television roles in Django (Sky Atlantic), For Life (ABC) and Top Boy (Channel 4 / Netflix). He has also enjoyed critical success in long-running theatrical productions at venues including the Royal Court Theatre, London and the Citizens Theatre, Glasgow.
Nicholas is a committed advocate for improved mental health provision within the creative industries and has spoken openly about his own experiences.
Speaking about his appointment, Nicholas said:
“Through my own experiences with mental health, I became increasingly aware of the emotional toll that carrying a character’s trauma can have. I have felt that weight deeply at times, and it has reinforced my belief that our industry must do more to support those working within it.
When I discovered Wellbeing in the Arts, I saw an organisation already putting in place the kind of meaningful, structured support I believe the sector urgently needs. I am incredibly proud to become an Ambassador and to contribute to the vital work being done to ensure creative professionals have access to the care and support they deserve.”
