Wellbeing in the Arts

Mental health and wellbeing support for the creative industries

The creative industries are facing a significant mental health challenge, with workforce wellbeing at an all-time low and many people unable to access the support they need.

Wellbeing in the Arts exists to address these issues and provides specialist, industry specific mental health and wellbeing support across the creative sector.

Our Vision

Our vision is a creative industry where every organisation, production and individual can access mental health and wellbeing support; where people feel safe to speak openly about personal or professional challenges without fear of judgement or consequence; where awareness and understanding of mental health issues is significantly advanced; and where the root causes of poor workplace wellbeing are meaningfully addressed.

What We Do

  • Support the mental health and wellbeing of organisations and their staff (including freelancers) through our Employee Assistance Programme (EAP), designed specifically for the creative industries
  • Embed specialist mental health support into theatre, film, television, opera and dance productions using our diverse team of Wellbeing Practitioners
  • Offer confidential access to self-funded counselling and coaching for individuals who do not receive employer, industry organisation or charity subsidy
  • Facilitate a supportive, inclusive network where people can connect, share experiences and access structured mental health and wellbeing support
  • Provide a structured development pathway that enables people from creative backgrounds to train and gain experience as Counsellors and Wellbeing Practitioners
  • Champion better mental health and wellbeing across the creative industries, helping to raise awareness and advocate for meaningful, lasting change
