What We Do

We provide mental health and wellbeing support to Arts organisations and individuals across the UK by offering access to trained Counsellors, wellbeing advice, training, workshops, and drop-in mental health surgeries.

How we help individuals

If you work for one of our partner organisations (including as a freelancer) and would like to speak with us about your mental health and wellbeing, please get in touch via the contact us page or by email at admin@wellbeinginthearts.org.uk.

We provide face-to-face and online access to trained Counsellors, all of whom have a knowledge of the unique challenges of working in the Arts, wellbeing advice, workshops, training events and mental health surgeries.

We also work with individuals who need support but are not able to access our services through their employer.

All of our services are 100% confidential, non-judgemental, and your employer (or anyone else) will never know that you have been in contact with us.

How we help organisations

We provide mental health and wellbeing support to Arts organisations of all sizes and their staff (including freelancers) by offering access to Counsellors, wellbeing advice, workshops, training, and drop-in mental health surgeries.

We work with a diverse range of Counsellors across the UK, all of whom are professionally trained, BACP / UKCP registered, and understand the unique challenges of working in the Arts.

Our counselling services focus on those staff members who would benefit from early intervention and a short-term injection of help, this not only enables employers to better look after the mental health and wellbeing of their employees, but also saves valuable money and resources by reducing the number of hours lost to sick leave and improving employee performance.

We run a wide range of bespoke workshops, each led by a Counsellor or experienced Practitioner, that cover a variety of issues including mental health awareness, stress management, anxiety, addiction, depression, low self-esteem, the impact of racial trauma, and bullying and harassment in the workplace.

We offer training courses in a number of areas including mental health awareness in the workplace, managing mental health, and mental health first aid, all of which can be delivered to groups or individuals.

Drop-in mental health and wellbeing surgeries allow Arts workers the opportunity to have immediate access to an onsite Wellbeing Advisor or Counsellor, so they can discuss in confidence any issue they may have, be it in the workplace or their private life. These sessions are particularly useful during rehearsal and production weeks. If a problem cannot be resolved in the initial meeting, we will work with the individual to access further support.

All our services are available in person and online and can be tailor-made to meet the specific needs and budget of every organisation.
