Welcome to Wellbeing in the Arts, a not-for-profit organisation that has been set up to provide mental health and wellbeing support to individuals, productions and organisations in the Arts industry by offering access to low-cost counselling, wellbeing support, workshops, training, and drop in surgeries.
Founder and CEO, Adam Bambrough, said “I am delighted to launch Wellbeing in the Arts, which I believe is the answer to the current mental health crisis within the Arts, and draws inspiration from my own personal experiences as a former actor and director with mental health issues, my considerable research into the support currently available within the industry, and the conversations I’ve had with thousands of people working in the Arts across the UK.
Our aim is to help build an industry in which every individual, production and organisation has access to mental health and wellbeing support, where those who struggle with their mental health can share their experiences without fear of judgement or consequence, awareness and understanding of mental health issues is vastly improved, and the root causes of poor mental health in the workplace are addressed.
Wellbeing in the Arts has been set up to do all of this…and much more”.
