SUMMARY:Women’s Mental Health and Wellbeing Peer Support Group (introductory session)
DESCRIPTION:Women working in the creative industries often navigate unique pressures — including job insecurity\, unequal pay\, discrimination\, harassment\, caring responsibilities\, and the challenge of balancing demanding careers with personal life. \nThese pressures can take a real toll on mental health and wellbeing\, yet many women still struggle to find spaces where they can speak openly and feel understood. \nIn response\, we are launching a supportive online group for women working in the creative industries who would value a space to talk\, listen\, and connect with others who understand the realities of the sector. \nYou do not need to be experiencing a crisis to take part — many people join simply because they value having a space where they can talk openly with others who understand the realities of working in the creative industries. \nThe group will be facilitated by Elena Gleed\, an experienced BACP-registered counsellor. \n\nIntroductory session\nBefore the group begins\, anyone interested is invited to attend a short introductory session at 7:30pm on Tuesday 14th April. \nThis informal meeting offers an opportunity to meet the facilitator\, learn more about how the group will work\, and help shape how sessions may be structured. We will also talk through confidentiality and group guidelines\, and there will be time to ask questions. \nThe introductory session also gives you the opportunity to see whether the group feels like the right fit\, helping everyone begin the programme feeling comfortable\, informed\, and ready to engage. \nThere is absolutely no pressure to speak. Many people attend their first session simply to listen and get a feel for the group. \nMost people who join are meeting one another for the first time\, and many attend their first session simply to listen. \nFollowing this session\, the intention is to establish a regular online meeting time\, alongside a dedicated WhatsApp group to help participants stay connected between sessions. \n\nAbout the group\nThis confidential space is designed to allow participants to share experiences\, discuss challenges\, celebrate progress\, and explore common mental health themes — all within a supportive environment guided by a qualified counsellor. \nThe group is simply a space for women to talk\, listen and support one another in a respectful and understanding environment. \nTo help build a consistent and trusting group dynamic\, participants will be encouraged to attend sessions regularly wherever possible. \n\nWhat to expect in the introductory session\nThe introductory session will be relaxed and informal. During the session we will: \n\nIntroduce the facilitator and the purpose of the group\nGive participants the opportunity to briefly introduce themselves (if they wish)\nTalk through confidentiality and group guidelines\nDiscuss what participants would like to gain from the group\nAnswer any questions before regular sessions begin\n\n\nBooking information\nThe introductory session is free to attend for everyone\, and places can be reserved by RSVP. \nIf you are unable to attend the introductory meeting\, but are interested in joining the group once it begins\, please still RSVP\, as this mean that you are included in all future correspondence related to the set up and running of the group. \nOngoing places in the group are for members of the Creative Industries Community only\, who can reserve their place using their unique membership password.

SUMMARY:Weekly Online Community Group (evening introductory session)
DESCRIPTION:Members of the Creative Industries Community can take part in our weekly online community group — a supportive\, structured space to connect with others working across the creative industries. \nMeeting online each week\, alternating between daytime and evening sessions\, the group offers an opportunity to talk openly about the realities of working in this sector\, share experiences\, and hear from others who understand the pressures and challenges that creative careers can bring. Members are welcome to attend as often or as occasionally as they find helpful — there is no expectation to come every week. Some people attend when they are navigating a difficult period\, while others come simply for connection\, conversation and a sense of community. \nThe first session will serve as an introduction to the group\, giving members the opportunity to meet the facilitator\, connect with other participants\, and learn more about how the sessions will work. It is designed to be a relaxed and welcoming space where people can begin to get to know one another and decide how they would like to engage going forward. Many people join their first session feeling unsure what to expect — that’s completely normal\, and you will be warmly welcomed. There is no pressure to speak or share anything personal; people are very welcome to simply listen and get a feel for the group. \nEach session is facilitated by a trained Counsellor who helps create a safe\, respectful environment where everyone has the opportunity to contribute if they wish. The facilitator may guide discussion\, introduce themes or prompts\, and ensure that the space remains supportive and inclusive for all participants. \nThe group is not a therapy session\, but rather a facilitated peer support space where people can speak honestly about their experiences and feel heard by others who understand the industry. Everyone in the group works in the creative industries\, so you’ll be among people who genuinely understand the realities of this sector. \nTo help maintain a supportive environment\, we ask all members to: \n\nTreat others with kindness\, respect and understanding\nBe mindful of how personal experiences are shared\nRespect confidentiality and the privacy of other participants\nRecognise that everyone attending may be at a different stage in their wellbeing journey\n\nThe aim is to create a consistent and welcoming space where people across the creative industries can connect\, reflect\, and support one another in a thoughtful and constructive way. \nThis group is for anyone working in the creative industries who would value a supportive space to connect with others who understand the realities of this sector. \nYou may find the group particularly helpful if you: \n\nWork freelance\, project to project\, and sometimes feel the instability or uncertainty that can come with that\nSpend long periods working intensely on productions\, projects or deadlines and rarely have space to reflect or talk about the impact it has\nLove working in the creative industries but sometimes find the pressures\, expectations or culture difficult to navigate\nOften support others in your work but don’t always have a space where you can talk openly yourself\nWould value connecting with people who understand the unique challenges of creative careers\nSimply want to feel less alone in an industry that can sometimes feel isolating\n\nPeople join the group for many different reasons. Some come because they are facing a difficult time\, while others simply value having a regular space to connect with others who understand the industry. \nYou do not need to be struggling to take part — many members simply value having a thoughtful space to connect with others in the sector. \nWherever you are in your career — whether you are just starting out\, established in your field\, or navigating a period of change — you are welcome. \nPlease RSVP to express your interest in joining the group ahead of its launch on Tuesday 31st March 2026. \nWe will then send you information on how to access the group. \nPlaces in the group are for members of the Creative Industries Community only\, who can reserve their place using their unique membership password.

SUMMARY:Community WhatsApp Group
DESCRIPTION:As part of the Creative Industries Community\, members can join our moderated WhatsApp group — a simple\, accessible space to stay connected with others working across the creative industries. \nThe group offers an opportunity to share experiences\, ask questions\, offer encouragement\, and connect with people who understand the unique realities of working in this sector. Members are welcome to participate as much or as little as they wish — some people contribute regularly\, while others simply read conversations and stay connected to the community. \nThe group is facilitated by trained counsellors who help ensure the space remains respectful\, inclusive and supportive for everyone. They may occasionally guide conversations\, share helpful resources\, or step in if discussions need to be gently redirected. \nMany people join the group feeling unsure what to expect — that’s completely normal. The aim is simply to create a welcoming and thoughtful space where people across the creative industries can connect with others who understand the pressures and challenges of working in this sector. \nThere is no expectation to share personal experiences\, and members are free to take part in a way that feels comfortable for them. \nWhile the group offers peer connection and supportive conversation\, it is not a counselling service. Everyone in the group works in the creative industries\, so you’ll be among people who genuinely understand the realities of this sector. \nTo help maintain a safe and supportive environment\, we ask all members to follow a few simple guidelines: \n\nBe respectful and assume good intentionsPlease communicate with kindness and respect. Remember that tone can sometimes be difficult to interpret in written messages.\nNo promotion\, recruitment or unsolicited adviceTo keep the space supportive and focused on community\, please avoid promoting services\, recruiting\, or offering advice unless it has been specifically requested.\nRespect privacy and boundariesPlease keep conversations within the group confidential and avoid messaging members privately unless they have invited you to do so.\n\nThe aim is to create a community where people feel able to talk\, listen and support one another in a thoughtful and responsible way. \nFor those moments when more structured support is needed\, members can also access the Community’s peer support groups\, wellbeing surgeries\, workshops and events. \nWho This Group Is For\nThis space is for anyone working in the creative industries who would value a supportive community where people understand the realities of working in this sector. \nYou may find the group particularly helpful if you: \n\nWork freelance or project-to-project and sometimes experience the uncertainty that can come with that\nSpend long periods working intensely on productions\, projects or deadlines and would value connection with others in the industry\nLove working in the creative industries but occasionally find the pressures or culture difficult to navigate\nOften support others in your work but rarely have a space to talk openly yourself\nWould simply value connecting with others who understand the unique experiences of creative careers\n\nPeople join the group for many different reasons. Some come because they are navigating a challenging period\, while others simply value being part of a supportive network of peers. \nYou do not need to be struggling to take part — many members simply appreciate having a space to stay connected with others across the creative industries. \nWherever you are in your career\, and whatever stage you are at professionally\, you are welcome. \nOngoing places in the group are for members of the Creative Industries Community only\, and you will be given information on how to access the group once you have signed up to the community.
